About Me
Hey y’all! Welcome to my little spot on the web. I assume you would like to hear a little more about me.
I got started in WordPress in 2010 when I decided to write a blog about all my crazy stories I had as a preschool teacher. The more I learned about working with WordPress, the more I was hooked. I decided then that I was going to make the career jump into the wonderful world of technology.
I first got started working with WordPress Security, cleaning hacked websites, updating/maintaining sites, and working with some of the best security plugins on the market. After that I did jump around to a few plugin companies, and one other digital agency while consulting and freelancing on the side.
I spoke at my first WordCamp way back in 2014 and was completely smitten with speaking, volunteering, and organizing WordCamps. I have now spoken at over 25 WordCamps, helped organize at least 10 WordCamps (including WordCamp US 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022), and have volunteered at countless more.
One of my favorite things that I have been able to do was to be the Documents Review lead for the WordPress 5.6, all women led release team. It was the first ever software release where all of the leads identified as female. What a remarkable achievement for the WordPress Community.
Fast forward many years later, I now work for a digital agency based out of Arlington, Texas, a university based out of Ithaca, New York, run my own web shop with 13Core, consult, and teach WordPress.
